- Spring walleye and white-bass runs can create exceptionally busy fishing conditions.

- Use the official water-trail map to identify dams, portages and public access points before launching.
- High flow can make otherwise familiar reaches significantly more difficult.
- Wear a life jacket and stay alert for powered boats on wider lower-river sections.
